There are two ways. The first is immediate and doesn't need anyone to handle it.
1. From the app (recommended)
- Open RestaurantApp and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm by typing your username.
Deletion happens right then. There is no grace period and no way to undo it.
Make a backup first if you want to keep your diary. Settings → Backups creates a file with everything, photos included, that you can keep wherever you like and restore later.
2. By email, if you no longer have the app
Write to maty892010@gmail.com from the same email address you created the account with, stating your username. That is the only check made, which is why the email has to come from that address: otherwise anyone could request deletion of someone else's account.
Requests are handled within 30 days at most, the deadline set by the GDPR; in practice it's usually a matter of days.
What is deleted
- Your account and your sign-in method.
- Your profile: username, display name, bio and avatar.
- Your whole synced diary: restaurants, dishes, visits, notes, ratings, tags, dates and prices.
- All your photos on the server.
- Your friendships and requests, your likes, your comments and your notifications.
- The notification tokens of your devices.
What is not deleted
- The diary on your own phone. It's yours and stays there; the app keeps working in local mode. To remove it, uninstall the app.
- What other people wrote in their diaries. If someone tagged you in one of their meals, that meal is theirs: the tag stops pointing to your account, but their entry is not deleted.
- Images you've shared. They're created on your phone and sent through whichever app you choose, so RestaurantApp has no copy of them and no way to take them back.
- Reports other people may have filed, without your identifier, as the record that they were handled.
No backup of a deleted account is kept, so the retention period after deletion is zero.
